WHAT IS A
“WELL STIMULATION OPERATION”?
Oil and gas fields require maintenance. During the production stage, the reservoirs’ permeability decreases and blockages and deposits build up in the pipes, reducing production flowrate.
(CLAY, BACTERIA, ASPHALTENE, ETC.)
REDUCE THE RESERVOIRS’ PERMEABILITY
AND THE PIPES’ DIAMETER.
A mixture of acids and stimulation products must be injected to avoid blockage and a gradual drop in flowrate. Meanwhile, injection pressure tests confirm the increases at the beginning of the reservoir. This is called well stimulation.
THE BOURBON ROV AND THE MANIFOLD
ARE LAUNCHED FROM THE MPSV.
is a remotely operated vehicle.
The manifold comprises a set of piping and valves used to direct fluids to specific points.
The ROV successively connects the hose to the manifold and the wellhead. The vessel injects acid into the well and the reservoir, flushing out the pipes. The platform reprocesses the neutralised acid during the operation.
The BOURBON crew works in round-the-clock shifts to ensure a stable connection between the surface and the bottom and cope with any emergency.
